Criminal Threats (Penal Code Section 422)
Any person who willfully threatens to commit a crime which will result in death or great bodily injury to another person and that person is then placed in a state of reasonably sustained fear of their safety or the safety of their immediate family, has committed the crime of criminal threats. The threat however must be specific and unequivocal, and communicated either verbally, in writing or by means of an electronic communication device.
